The Housing Model at thehousingmodel.com and plan.thehousingmodel.com is operated and licensed by Brooks Digital Ventures LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company. This policy covers paid access to the planner.
Fourteen days from your purchase, for any reason, no questions asked. Write to us and we will refund you in full. You do not have to explain, and we will not ask you to.
You have fourteen days from the moment of purchase to ask for a refund of the Homebuying Pass, and we will give you all of your money back. “Any reason” means any reason: it was not what you expected, you changed your mind, the numbers did not tell you what you hoped, or you would simply rather have the $59.
We ask nothing in return. You are not asked to justify it, you are not offered a discount to stay, and you do not lose anything you have built. Nothing you entered is deleted when a refund is issued: your plans, your figures and everything you saved stay in your browser where they have always been, and the free part of the product is unaffected, exactly as described in the Terms of Use.
What a refund does stop is the pass. Getting your money back and keeping the paid features would not be a refund, so when we issue one we withdraw the licence key that was emailed to you, and the paid features — the thirty-year projection, the comparison between paths, the printable record and progress tracking — go back to being locked. We email you to say so at the same time, rather than letting you find out the next time you open it. This normally takes effect within a day of the refund. If you buy again later, you get a new key and everything you had built is still there.
Write to hello@thehousingmodel.com from the address you bought with, or use the refund route our payments provider gives you on your receipt. Either reaches us.
Payment is handled by a payments provider acting as the merchant of record, so the refund is issued by them and returns to the card or account you paid with. That usually takes a few business days to appear, depending on your bank; the delay is theirs and your bank’s, not a waiting period we impose. We will confirm to you when it has been issued.
After fourteen days we do not offer refunds for change of mind. We will still put right anything that is actually wrong: if the paid features do not work, if you were charged twice, if you were charged for something you did not buy, or if you cannot get access to what you paid for, write to us and we will fix it or refund you regardless of how long it has been.
The Homebuying Pass is a single payment covering twelve months. It does not renew on its own, so there is no subscription to cancel and nothing to stop before it lapses. When the twelve months end, the paid features end and everything you entered stays where it is.
Our payments provider is Paddle, which acts as the merchant of record for your purchase. Paddle’s buyer terms apply alongside this policy, and the contracting Paddle entity is named on your receipt. Where their terms give you more than this policy does, you get the more generous of the two.
Building a plan is free and needs no account: the whole household model, your pay and deductions read from a paycheck stub in your own browser, and as many saved plans as the browser holds. The Homebuying Pass is what unlocks the thirty-year projection, the comparison between paths, the printable record and progress tracking. This policy applies to every purchase of that pass.
